physical attributes
Bernese Mountain Dogs have a beautiful tricoloured coat, thick and wavy insulated with two layers, protecting the dog against cold weathers. With all of the patterns symmetrical, the majority of the dog is black, and there is a large white patch on the chest, white on the head, toes, and tip of the tail. The rust colour is seen on the cheeks, over each eye, on all four legs and underneath the tail. Berners have a large build, weighing in at 80-115 pounds for males, or 70-95 pounds for females, they have a broad head and strong muzzle encasing teeth met in a scissor bite. Though they are agile, the dog's slow trot is a characteristic of it's history of pulling carts as a working dog. Males stand around 25 to 27.5 inches tall and females stand around 23 to 26 inches tall, with triangular ears with round tips.
